Slides (Microslides)

Advantages:

• Due to the size of the slides they are easy to package and store
• They can be disturbed easily
• Allows many students to look at microscopic materials

Disadvantages:

• It takes time to produce these slides therefore the quality depends on the laboratory services
• You must have the appropriate equipment available

Implications for Collection Development

Due to the increase in technology slides of this kind are outdated.  Because they are outdated the equipment may not be available at the school.  Students are able to find photographs and graphic on the internet that is easily accessed. 

Copy Considerations

To copy a slide set you must have written permission from the company.
