Your Feedback

1) Ask often and in different ways for patron feedback like exit surveys, program assessment sheets, and an "ask the director" section on your website. Next, show you're listening by taking action to implement the requests when and where possible. Then PUBLICIZE the action as "by patron request"  like "as seen on TV". It's imperative to remind patrons that the "new" thing is all about giving them what they want and that you're listening

2) Avoid the "rut" syndrome", keep patrons interested in what's going on at the library by giving them something new to look forward to. We live in the age of "innovation" so we have to innovate.

Students:

Read for Rewards- Read 25 Children books for a Pizza Party & Certificate

Example: Shel Siverstein’s “The Giving Tree”

'Once there was a tree...and she loved a little boy.' So begins a story of unforgettable perception, beautifully written and illustrated by the gifted

Teachers:

How to Improve /Scoring High on Test

We brand merchandised the new service/policy with eye catching marketing materials that included table top display w/ quarter sheet fliers and promotional ads.

Scoring High Achievement Test Preparation

This is the best test prep program we have found for those annual achievement tests required in many states. Scoring High drills students in test-taking strategies; reading, math, language and study skills most often tested; understanding testing formats and time management techniques -- Plus it reviews material covered on the specific test your child is scheduled to take.  Each set contains 1 teacher's manual and 1 student workbook- you need the teacher's manual in order to administer the practice tests

Parents:

Puppets make literature, stories, animals and imagination come alive for children in the library and in their homes. But puppets get dirty and sometimes need a needle and thread. We needs assistance to keep puppets clean, soft, fluffy and in good repair. Mending and washing is done at volunteer's home. Books need covers repaired and information boards need to be up-dated monthly.

Assist ABE instructors in teaching basics of English, reading, and/or math to adults. Training is provided locally.

Bookstore at LEM Center

Assist customers, stock shelves and arrange displays. Volunteers should have customer service experience, enjoy working with the public and with books and have the ability to operate a cash register. Training is provided.

SPRING

SPRING TIME is here! Warmer spring weather is a blessing for many after a cool winter. Spring gardening, outdoor exercise and jacketless days are delightful after months spent indoors. For book lovers, it's a chance to leave a favorite indoor reading spot and find a hammock or Adirondack chair to read a new book. And this month there's a new selection to tempt book lovers.
