The teachers usually give me a syllabus with their unit planners. I will meet with the 3rd grade teachers during their weekly grade level meetings. I will begin by discussing with them the plans I have for their upcoming unit Citizenship "People Making A Difference". I would explain that this unit can be broken down to identify specific cultures of people making a difference by their contributions to our country. I would like to be responsible for the African American connection. I would explain that the students will research Famous African Americans and then present Powerpoints of these famous people. In the opening of the unit that is why we look at famousbecause the entire unit deals with multicultralism. Therefore each teacher will work with a different group of famous people throughout the unit. Other suggestion for the other groups can be book reports on their famous people or artifacts from famous people inventions.
