2. SELA
Southeastern Library Association
The Southeastern Library Association has been a unifying force strong enough to influence legislation and to attract foundation and federal funds for regional library projects. The accomplishments of the Association include two regional library surveys; the adoption of school library standards; the establishment of state library agencies and the position of state school library supervisor; the founding of library schools; the sponsoring of a variety of informative workshops; and the publication of significant regional research and a professional journal, which has received national recognition.
Publications
The Southeastern Librarian (SELn) is the official publication of the Southeastern Library Association (SELA). The quarterly publication seeks to publish articles, announcements, and news of professional interest to the library community in the southeast. The publication also represents a significant means for addressing the Association's research objective. Two newsletter-style issues serve as a vehicle for conducting Association business, and two issues include juried articles.

AIMS
IFLA is an independent, international, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization. Our aims are to:
Promote high standards of provision and delivery of library and information services
Encourage widespread understanding of the value of good library & information services
Represent the interests of our members throughout the world.
Role in respect to school library media specialist: to be a resource, a source of information and support.
IFLA Journal is published four times a year. Each issue covers news of current IFLA activities and articles, selected to reflect the variety of the international information profession, ranging from freedom of information, preservation, services to the visually impaired and intellectual property.

5. AIMA
The Alabama Instructional Media Association
The purposes and objectives of the Alabama Instructional Media
Association are:
· to promote the effective use of instructional media.
· to keep educators adequately informed about media services
and materials.
· to recruit personnel and to encourage and promote professional
growth.
· to serve as an organization to coordinate research on
evaluation in the use of instructional media.
· to plan and conduct long-range programs for the development
and improvement of instructional media in general, and to
cooperate with other organizations and agencies whose
interests and purposes are similar to this organization.

Role of the organization in respect to LMS:
AIMA (Alabama Instructional Media Association) is a professional
organization dedicated to the improvement of instruction through the
utilization of media and technology. It provides a forum for school
library media specialists, administrators, curriculum specialists,
teachers, library media educators, graduate students, professional
association leaders, and retired library media professionals, to
promote excellence in education in Alabama through effective school
library media programs.

6. FOLUSA
Friends of libraries U.S.A.
The mission of FOLUSA is to motivate and support state and local library support groups across the country in their efforts to preserve and strengthen libraries, and to create awareness and appreciation of library services by:
· Assisting in developing Friends groups in order to generate local and state support.
· Providing guidance, education, and counsel on issues and concerns relevant to Friends, Trustees, Foundations and Libraries.
· Promoting the development of strong and effective library advocacy programs.
· Serving as a clearinghouse of information and expertise.
· Establishing locations of historical literary significance around the country as Literary Landmarks.
Promoting reading and literacy through our national Books for Babies program.

International Society for Technology in Education
Our mission: to provide leadership and service to improve teaching and learning by advancing the effective use of technology in education.
ISTE meets its mission through knowledge generation, professional development, and advocacy. ISTE also represents and informs its membership regarding educational issues of national scope through ISTE–DC. We support a worldwide network of Affiliates and Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and we offer our members the latest information through our periodicals and journals.
An organization of great diversity, ISTE leads through presenting innovative educational technology books and programs; conducting professional development workshops, forums, and symposia; and researching, evaluating, and disseminating findings regarding educational technology on an international level.

YALSA's Goal:
