Media Formats “Pamphlets.”
An unbound printed work, usually with a paper cover. Pamphlets are usually on a current topic.
Advantages:
· Usually free or inexpensive
· Good for research
· Information is current
· Information is brief and to the point
· Pamphlets can be replaced easily
Disadvantages:
· Easily damaged
· Easily misplaced
· Require constant straightening
· Can be printed above the reading level of some students
Implications for collection and development:
Pamphlets offer the library media specialist a free or inexpensive way to offer current information that may not be available in the collection.
Copyright considerations:
Pamphlets usually do not have copyright restrictions. Each pamphlet should be checked for copyright restrictions before material is copied.
